My love for basketball started when I was in first grade, ever since my passion and love for the game has grown stronger. Having good, strong relationships with my teammates is extremely important to me. On the outside I seem reserved, but I am constantly thinking about how to make team/teammates more successful in practices and in games.
I am primarily a shooting and point guard, however I am a very flexible player and can fit into any position that a team needs. I pride myself on my defensive skills and ability to create scoring opportunities for myself and teammates. I have quick hands and the ability to anticipate my opponent's next move. I also put myself into great position to rebound and transition up the floor. I am always looking for scoring opportunities for myself but won’t hesitate to pass the ball to an open teammate.
Although I love the game of basketball, I am a dual sport athlete. During the fall season I play volleyball. Not only do I enjoy playing volleyball, it is helping me improve my basketball skills as well. Playing volleyball helps me improve my vertical greatly and it also helps me improve my reaction time. Which are both very useful skills to have when playing basketball.
Even though sports are a big part of my life, I still am continuing to take advanced classes and maintain a 3.9 grade point average. Basketball is a very important aspect to my life, but I always know to put education before it. If I don’t understand something I’m learning in school I will always reach out to get help and support so I can understand the material and keeping furthering my education.
I would love the opportunity and the challenge to play basketball at the next level while obtaining my degree. It is very important to me that I find a college that has great educational opportunities as well as a great basketball program that I fit well into.
